Through the lived reality of "sovereignty never ceded," we honour the Ancestors and Elders whose responsibilities to Country have persisted since time immemorial. We recognize that these roles are upheld by continuing sovereigns, whose authority endures through living jurisdiction and the unwavering practices of continuing and ongoing sovereignty..

We acknowledge the coexisting connections and jurisdictions within the modern Australian state. Personally, I acknowledge the sovereignty of the Wulgurukaba of Gurambilbarra and Yunbenun, the Bindal, Gugu Badhun and Nywaigi peoples I pay my respects to their Ancestors and Elders, past and present, on whose unceded lands I live and work.
